Throughout my career I have always kept an easel and my oil paints set up in a corner of my studio.  My paintings are shaped by a foundation in architecture and illustration. I approach the canvas as a constructed space- considering structure, composition and light-while allowing the material qualities of oil to introduce atmosphere and subtle unpredictability. Oil painting for me has always been a way to escape the constraints of strict deadlines and client driven feedback so that I can explore different ideas freely.  Phillipsburg July StormIMG_2335A Dry RainStorm over Eastern MT Faithful DayIMG_2332Langley Cove, Whidbey Isl.IMG_2327IMG_2292IMG_2297IMG_2289IMG_2296IMG_2299IMG_2300IMG_2303IMG_2307IMG_2308IMG_2312North Sister SolitudeIMG_2316IMG_2317IMG_2310IMG_2279
